The Spirit of Dallas offers several community sails each month. These sails are free but you must make a reservation. Check our calendar for availability and times.
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on their sail. The Spirit of Dallas' benches will convert in to tables so you can easily enjoy your food. Make sure your paper napkins and plates are secure so they can not blow off while the sailboat is moving.
The Spirit of Dallas has 80 life vests ranging from infant to adult sizes, and 2 throwable safety slings. The Spirit of Dallas crew provides a short safety briefing at the beginning of each sail on the use of the life vests and throwable.
We want your time aboard The Spirit of Dallas to be enjoyable and comfortable. We do not sail in rain or when the wind is sustained 18+ knots or gusting regularly over 25+ knots. We will try contact you using the email and/or cell phone number provided in your reservation at least 1 hour prior to scheduled departure time, if we need to cancel the sail that you signed up for.

We recommend taking the DART train to White Rock Station, biking or walking the White Rock Lake trail to the park. If you drive, park in any of the parking lots along northeast shore of the lake and enjoy a stroll to the dock located across from Big Thicket on the northeast end of East Lawther Drive. Please do not park in the grass; you will be ticketed and it causes erosion.
The Spirit of Dallas till offers a limited number of community sails each week. These sails are free but you must make a reservation. To find out available community sails, click on the 'Reserve Your Seat' button located in 'Community Sails' box above. Community sails are meant for individuals that may not be able to afford to going sailing otherwise.
